About

Hey Everyone! I’m Stephen - the co-founder of Lumiere Education. We’re a holding group of education companies focused on nerdy, high school students. My co-founder and I started Lumiere in the spring of 2020 and have bootstrapped the business since. We have historically started different education brands, but over the past two years have also started acquiring competitors/peers in our space. Our team is about 120 people and is proudly global!

A bit more on myself - I’m based in Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh City) and grew up in and out of Asia as a kid. I went to public high school in Taipei and also previously lived in Mumbai and Singapore. Outside of work, I do stand-up comedy in Vietnamese (here’s a set I did that went kind of viral last year), where I am competing with absolutely no one in being the #1 white guy comedian in the country. Previously, I studied stats at Harvard, worked at McKinsey, and dropped out of a PhD at HBS. Excited to meet y’all!
